Buses — Suburban

Transperth bus services operate throughout the metropolitan area.
Services within the city centre Free Transit Zone, which includes both the red & blue CAT bus services, are free.

The Free Transit Zone boundaries are Thomas Street through to the Causeway, & Newcastle Street to Barrack Square Jetty.

In Fremantle a free service to tourist points of interest is provided by Transperth’s orange CAT service. For more details call into the Transperth Information Offices in the city located at the City Busport, Wellington Street Bus Station or Plaza Arcade.

Trains

Suburban - Transperth trains operate from central city to Fremantle, Midland, Armadale & Currambine.

Certain Currambine trains throughout the day run straight through to Armadale, similarly Fremantle trains run through to Midland. Suburban trains leave from the City Station in Wellington Street.

Country - Westrail operates a daily rail service to Bunbury (“The Australind”) which also leaves from the City Station, Wellington Street, Perth.

The Kalgoorlie train (“The Prospector”) runs daily & the Avonlink to Northam runs weekdays from the East Perth Terminal.

Interstate - The Indian Pacific train service (Perth-Adelaide-Sydney) is described as one of the great train journeys of the world.
It departs from the East Perth Terminal each Wednesday & Sunday at 11.55am.
