-australian currency-

The basic unit of Australian currency is the Dollar, symbolised by the '$' icon.
As is standard in most countries which use this unit, 100 cents equal one dollar.

Notes come in denominations of $100, $50, $20, $10, $5, and coins are in $2, $1, 50c, 20c, 10c and 5c denominations.

Currency exchanges are available at all banks and some agencies, however, Flight Centre Travel Money will offer excellent rates.

The most commonly accepted credit cards in WA are Visa, Bankcard, American Express, Mastercard, and Diners Club.

Major international cards can be used for a wide range of goods and services in the city and resort areas, but their use in smaller towns may be restricted.

Credit cards are now widely accepted at supermarkets and petrol filling stations, but not generally at small grocery shops.
